Pillar 3 · Focus area 3 of 3

Revenue Quality

Assess whether the resulting revenue base appears reasonably durable, predictable and diversified, without obvious retention, concentration or contractual weaknesses.

This focus area belongs to the Coppice Labs Audit for digital-product exit readiness. It sits within Commercial Model, Pillar 3 of 5.

Why it matters

Headline revenue alone does not show how dependable the business is. A light-touch view of recurring revenue, retention and expansion, customer concentration and commercial commitments can reveal weaknesses that may become significant during diligence.

The conclusion we need

Determine whether the revenue base appears reasonably repeatable, predictable, retained and diversified for the company's model and stage, and whether concentration, contraction, contractual commitments or customer-specific delivery dependencies create obvious weaknesses that should be evidenced, addressed, explained or referred before diligence.

What we examine

The questions we will answer

  1. How much revenue is recurring or otherwise repeatable, and how predictable is it?
  2. How does revenue from existing customers persist, contract or expand over time?
  3. How concentrated is revenue, and what makes the largest customer relationships more or less durable?
  4. Which contractual or delivery commitments could weaken the durability or quality of revenue?
